What is edible gardening? Growing stuff you can eat. Mostly vegetables but also fruit, herbs, and a few flowers. Maybe even sprouts and mushrooms in the winter.

Why are we having meetings? To help people in Central New York learn from experts and from each other how to grow healthy food in their own yards and community gardens, harvest it, and preserve it for the winter.

We also have people willing to answer questions and offer advice on gardening because, while vegetable gardening is not that hard, we have lost a lot of the knowledge and skill that our grandparents had. As you try gardening you might want a little help.

Upcoming meetings

We're moving!

For two years Edible Gardening has been meeting at the Liverpool Library. For the next ten months (except for October) we will be at the Cicero public library (The Northern Onondaga Public Library at Cicero). The main reason for the change is that a community garden is being developed at the library. We will be able to demonstrate ideas there and see how the gardens grow. Hopefully we will also be able to provide useful information for those actually gardening there.

Except for October, all meetings are at the Cicero Public Library (8686 Knowledge Lane, Cicero) at 10:00 A.M. Directions

See Meetings page for information about past and future meetings.
